| St.
Lasalle Industrial school is managed by the St. Pius X Boys' Town
Trust. This trust runs state government approved technical courses
namely Carpentry, Welding, Mechanic Lathe Operator and Electrical
Technician. These courses are offered to socially marginalized rural
youth, economically poor, handicapped, orphan and school dropouts.
The boys receive moral, academic, technical and agricultural training
that will fit them to choose their right place in the society. This
training will also help them to be free from the specter of hunger
and insecurity that haunted them through their childhood. Food, accommodation,
medical care, tuition fee, educational expenses and clothing are provided
free of cost. |

The
Institute issues Industrial School Certificates to the students who
complete the courses. All these courses are run successfully. The
duration of the course is two years. In the first year, intensive
training with theory and practical knowledge in the respective trade
and one-month implant training in a working environment is given.
In the second year the students are sent for apprentice training in
the Production Unit. |
|
| The classes
start at 8.30 am. Every day there are two practical sessions and six
theory classes. Annually in April - May, Certificates of Proficiency
are issued to all the boys who complete their Course. Most of them
get employed in several firms according to the type of training undergone.
