Day Care Centers provide an opportunity for the working
women of the villages to leave their children in the
safe custody of well trained personnel. The Day care
center in the villages provide an alternative ambience
where the children are happy and joyful.
* The kids are taught alphabets numerals and trained
in extra curricular activities.
* Moral lessons are taught with support of charts
and songs. In all 16 Day care centers
456 kids are under our care.
* Our Health Staff visit the center regularly to
offer medical services to the sick children
and gives guidance on personal hygiene.
* Children are provided nutritious food in the afternoon
with vegetable and egg.
* COUNSELING takes care of the children's mental strength.
It is done periodically by our trained
staff and the coordinator of the children's programme.

The denial of the right
to education hinders people's capacity to work productively
to sustain and protect themselves and their families.
Many poor families feel that the benefit of education
is not practically applicable to their mode of life.
Since most of the parents are themselves illiterate,
the children have no one to refer to, and clear their
doubts regarding their school subjects. Moreover the
parents are not satisfied with the improve must their
of children LASALLE KADALISAI started Tuition
centers in its target area. We currently have 20 tuition
centers and more than 1066 students are benefiting from
this. Children are also encouraged in indoor and out
door games and trained in extra curricular activities.
The students show much interest in conducting awareness
meeting in the villages on topics like dowry, infanticide,
child labor, small savings and alcoholism etc. Children
are also provided free notebooks, school bags etc

HEALTH PROGRAMME
Ignorance and lack of
sanitary facilities are prevalent among the villagers.
To counteract the above situation LASALLE KADALISAI
gives prime importance to health education. It promotes
awareness through capacity building and health education.
Some of the other means adopted for health awareness
camps, corner meetings, film shows etc. Health Programme
looks at the physical health need of the children and
women. Monthly check up helps them get medicines for
their ailments. At the time of emergency, we refer them
to the Government Hospital or Private Hospital where
they could get an easy access to the medical facilities.
Each and every Tuition and Day care centre is given
Medicine Box (Health kid). Health Camp is also conducted
for the target groups and necessary treatment is given
accordingly to physical ailments.
Community Development Programmes
A deprived section of
the society in the Tsunami hit areas is the women folk
who fall prey to the economic deprivation. Every day
meal is the question of existence for the women folk
in this region. A group of this kind was gathered together
and motivated to form groups for their welfare. So far
93 women self help groups have been formed with the
membership of 930 members.
Training to SHG's
The motivation training organized to women Self Help
Group's members have depend women's understanding of
SHG and its being training on leadership qualities and
accounting also strengthen their capacity.
Our programme for rural women includes
1. Mobilization and establishment
of community based organizations.
2. Awareness generation on the concept of self-Help
Group, group formation, & income
generation activities.
3. Promotion of SHG's
4. Crating job opportunity by means of skill training
programmes and availing micro
credit.
5. Making them able in account keeping, banking and
resource handling.
6. Equipping the women's group as resource group to
the village for any actions at the
gross root level.
7. Federating them with the other such forums to increase
their knowledge and participation.
