Bro. Sebastian started vocational training
center in 2002 for the benefit of street and working
children, school dropouts, poor and marginalized students.
The administration of the Institution was handed over
to the Delegation in 2003 and Bro. Arulsamy has taken
the responsibility of the animation of the I.T.I. Many
thanks to Bro. Sebastian who ventured this new apostolate
in Dindigul.

St. La Salle Puthumanam Industrial
school runs non-formal and state government approved
technical courses namely Electrical Technician,
Automobile Mechanic, Data Processing & Computer
Application, Cutting and Tailoring and Embroidery
and Needle Work for school drop-outs, slums, street
and working children an marginalized students.
Besides apprenticeship training

all students learn allied trades
on all Saturdays. All students are sent for in-plant
training for a month to different companies and
workshops based on their particular trade. Two
hours per week value education and spoken English
are taught to them. We try to linkage proper linkage
with government machineries, Research Institutions
and non-governmental organizations. We strive
our best to get them employed in various farms
and factories according to their particular training
and skills.

At Present Bro. Arulsamy and Bro. Jeyakumar
are directly involving in the Industrial School. Bro.
Arulsamy is the Correspondent of School and Bro. Jayakumar
is the Co-ordinator of the Industrial School activities.
Along with them eight lay partners are working for the
welfare of targeted youth.
