   History & Mission Statement


St. James School was a small middle school, in a remote village called Suranam, in Sivagangai District of Tamilnadu in South India under patronage of Sivagangai diocese. The primary occupation of the people in this village is agriculture, and they are generally poor farmers and daily wage earners. On June 4th 1986, the Brothers took over the school and later upgraded it into a higher secondary school. New constructions were established with the help of many generous donors.

 Guiding Principle

 "The Sprit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed  me to preach good news to the poor, He has sent me to  proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for  the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of  the Lord's favour."

 Mission Statement

 We the Brothers at Arnould Anbalayam, taking into  consideration the socio-economic and cultural aspects of  the rural people, we commit ourselves to the promotion of  Christian values, especially to the youth who are  economically poor. We achieve this by inculcating the  concept of "Learning and Sharing". We live as a community,  helping the students to become able instruments in the  society.
