Lasalle Dreams

Keelamudiman is a mission Parish in the Diocese of Tuticorin. De Lasalle Brothers Started out educational apostolate in this remote Village. It is 30Km away towards north west of Tuticorin, a port town in South India. This mission of Teaching the Children at regular the Children at regular school was established in June 19,2000 to animate and develop this backward area.

Lasalle Dream Evening study centres were Started in June 01, 2004.Tution Centres were started in two villages (Keelamudiman & Melamudiman) at the beginning of the academic year 2004-'05.Then it was Spread out to Vengadeswarapuram, P.Duraisamipuram and Vellaram in July '04. In October 2005 new centre was started in Pommaiyapuram, Subash Chandra Bose was Appointed as an animator of the particular centre on Feb 2006.Another new seven centre was started at Governagiri. At Present Seven Centres are running under Lasalle Dream Project and It is run by the Lasalle Deepam Community
                               

Role of the Tuition Centers

At present people are in low Socio-economic Status. They are also bounded by traditions and cultural practices. Brothers are molding them as individuals with knowledge, awareness, independence, confidence and self esteem.
The role of the tuition centers are to encourage students to involve in Social Services and Organizing entertainment. Animators should keep the record on individuals in a concern tuition centers The Obedient and the good students will be awarded at the end of the academic year or an annual day

Financial Help

We have got a financial help the SECOLI Project with this we have rented a place for running the centers and the electricity charge will be paid by the Lasalle Dream Project. Since they are in poor conditions and no rain for harvesting. Lasalle Dream Voluntarily come forward to pay for that and it is sponsoring for some of the poor boys those who are bellow poverty line.

The Animators are paid by the Co-ordinator The y will be call for a meeting twice/thrice a year .It will be recorded in a notebook. Literacy association day is celebrated in each centers. Annual Day will be conducted at the end of academic year. Totally it is more helpful for the poor kids in and around Keelamudiman.
